If anyone can look at picture #12 and tell first is it installed right and second is this to be used as a hitch? I really like my new 9n the SN is #9N70987. I have not determined the year yet but I will check out "John Smiths" web page.
Thanks,
Bill

yea - that looks good, but one question. Ar your lift arms different lengths? It looks like the right one is longer than the left one. Maybe just the picture...

Oh, that is a nice boar you got too!

Yes, two requirements must be met, there must be a mechanism to keep the drawbar from turning and a mechanism to keep the drawbar from moving up. Both conditions look like they are met. Allowing the drawbar to move up, would be a dangerous condition. The pulling point must be below the rear axel (as low as possible )to keep the tractor from rolling over on the hind wheels. This could ruin your whole day...

Claus, I have a chain on the arms in addition to the brackets. I had this for the lift since they work off the same hyd. circuit. I really don't think these adjustable brackets could hold the arms down on their own because I can flex them by applying force to both ends (they can bow). This is with a lot of force but I am a mere mortal not a For "N" series tractor. This tractor would probably bend these in 1/2. I should keep it chained, right???

Nice N and BUCK.
We have completed our early archery season and are winding down the gun season, and as of yet I am without venison. Any idea why you have a different tire/rim/hub set-up on the front of your9?
I am just the opposite with my 48-8n, I have the wide bolt pattern, from a 9 or 2N.
Again, congrats on both counts.
Thom

The difference is I think the back tires came from a 8N but who can be sure 60 years later.
