Jubilee timing moving after distributor is set has anybody ever heard of this ?

my neighbors got a jubilee i tuned it up the other day put points coil condensor rotor cap and wires on it and plugs it ran fine for the past couple days . he called me today and said it was running bad missing out not getting much past idle even with full throttle .so i marked the distribuor and reset the distributor and walla it ran great for about 10 min then it started back to its old tricks so i moved it back to where i started and it ran great again after a few min running bad again . some how the timing is changing without the distributor moving. i put marks on it to see if its moving on the outside of the distributor and its not . what in the world is going on ????? ghosts ? please help thanks brian

What Zane and Ray said. Also consider the possibility that the drive gear pin has sheared and the gear is rotating slightly around the distributor shaft.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad distributor bushing

Take out the distributor plate and see if there isn't something wrong with the fly weights in the bottom of the distributor. They do wear out sometimes.
