If the new valves are installed correctly and the seats have been ground with three angles correctly for the valve being installed and the angle of the valve is the same as the seat there is no need to lap new or old valves that have been correctly reground and are still thick enough on the edge to be practicle to reuse. Lapping valves is only good for installing new valves or used valves in a seat where it has not previously been used and where the seat has not been properly reground.

There was a time when tools were not as close tolerance and good as they are now that lapping was necessary but not now if they are done right.
