To borrow all of your expertise again, what is the difference between the jubilee and the 600. I sold my 8n to upgrade and I found a '54 600 in great shape. Metal excellant, needs paint, engine rebuilt 10yrs ago, good rubber. Iam going to offer $3200.00. Does this sound good? Thanks to all!

Terry, if it is a 600 it probably is a better tractor than an NAA but not as rare or "collectable". Check out the Vintage Ford Tractor Resource link that I posted under Zane's post. You'll want to examine the model and serial number carefully to be sure what you're getting. If it's a 660 it will have a live pto which the NAA most likely will not have. Very useful to have. $3200 sounds like a good buy to me. I got an 850 (no live pto, alas) for $2500 last summer but it isn't as nice as you describe. Check it out carefully, but I'd be leaning toward buying it. Good Luck.

Correction:: the NAA as well as the Jubilee has a live PTO!!!!! Buy the 600 on down the road you will be very grateful for the "improvements" that Zane has afore mentioned!

If it is a 54 it is the same tractor as the Jubilee except for the emblem on the front of the hood. If it is a 600 it is 55 or later.
The transmission and the hydyaulic lift are different on the NAA (53 and 54) than the 600 but are basically the same as the 600 with some variations such as the backprssure and unloading valve and the 600 has the pump oil tubes built into the transmission housing and the NAA is outside and under the right side of the transmission housing. The NAA came from the factory with a Vickers vane pump and the 600 came with the piston pump.
The NAA has the same axles as the 8N and the 600 has the improved axles without splines on the outer ends of the axles. There are some other differences but these are the more drastic differences.

Zane, according to Dan's Vintage Ford Tractor Resource, the "hundred" series actually did start in '54. Serial numbers 1 thru 10614 being built in 1954. I guess '54 was a split year like '47 was with the 2n and 8n.

You are right that the 600 was manufactured in later 54 but it is still a 55 year model. Just like all the automobiles and pickup trucks when there is a model change. They would have to be mighty quick to make the new models on the first day of January of the model change.

Zane-would the 600 be a good buy at $3200.00. It does have the front emblem "600" on it, and is it a better tractor than the jubilee. Thanks again.

Yes that is a fair price if the tractor is in good condition and the rubber is good.
Yes I think the 600 is a better tractor. After all they did make a lot of improvements over the NAA. Modifications if you will and in my opinion good modifications.
