Some of you may remember my post of vapor lock and using a length of airline clamped on to alieiate that...work for a while...then put longer rerouted new fuel line on..without hose..clearance was given..started dieing out after a short period of time..and needed choke to run..,Well, it started and drove me nuts. Everything electrical checked out. plugs, plug wires, 3.5 v at the coil, good brite blue sparks on all plugs. well, that left the fuel system. Flow out of the line was good, sediment bowl screen and carb screen were clean..decided to drain out the gas and check the inlet screen in the tank. drained down to about 3 gal and started slowing down to almost a dribble. Hmmmm, I set up a funnel under the bowl to gas can, and pulled the bowl assy out...NOW, I had good flow...checked and found some fibers stuck to the lone inlet tube for the assy and when had a good flow would suck the fibres over the hole and block it. Cleaned it up, took screen off old bowl assy, and closed one end with fine safety wire and inserted it into the screen on good assy over the long tube and then wired it so it could not move...flushed tank, reinstalled modified bowl assy, and filtered the gas going back in...found more fibers. Today was the test...drove over to friends 2 miles away and brush hogged 2 pastures about 7 acres...Did not have a bit of problem..did not even hesitate..
Looks like this is the final solution to my problem..
Sorry about the long post, but wanted to explain so if someone else has a similar problem, here is one thing to look for...Then drove home,,sucess!!!
Good luck everyone

I think it was dell who said 90% of electrical problems are caused by the fuel system.

In escence, what looked like an electrical situation was really the fuel tank. Glad you found it!

Ed,

I think you have it backwards, 90% of fuel problems are electrical.
