Can anyone tell me, on a front mount distributor, viewed from the front looking aft, which plug wire hole is #1 and which way the shaft rotates? (I'm talking about in the distributor cap). I've never had this tractor running and just replaced the old wires without marking them first. Duh!!

Thanks in advance.

Brian, the proud new owner of a 1945 2N.

Looking from the front, the distributor turns ccw. The left upper should be 1 then the left lower should be 2 then the right lower should be 4 and the right upper should be 3.

Brian,

Best I remember, #1 is on the top left looking from the front. Under it is #2, lower right is #4, and upper right is #3. Rotation is counterclockwise. Firing order is 1243. #1 plug is closest to the raditor.

Just a note, did you use copper core plug wires? The carbon core (resistor) wires won't work reliably.
