I generally recommend the I&T FO-4 Ford manual for all N-series Tractors. Available at sponsors of this great N-Board, most tractor parts emporiums, www.n-news.com, even Ford/New Holland fer peets stakes. $29 cheep, gettcha one and read it. Howsomever, I don't know about a 1949 Ford Massy 9N. Ya see, in 1938 ol'Henry Ford and ol'Harry Ferguson had a handshake agreement. Ford would produce a tractor using Fergusons 3-point hydraulic hitch. So in 1939, Ford produced the 9N. In 1942, Ford produced the 2N. And in 1947 Ford died and so did the handshake. In 1948, Ford introduced the 8N. Ol'Harry got some lawyers to claim that Ford damaged him and claim he wanted $300 million for being infringed upon. In the mean time Ferguson started his own tractor company and produced the TO-20 and TE-20. So, sometime in the mid-50's Ferguson merged with Massy-Harris creating Massy-Ferguson. So now you know why I can't tell you where to get a 1949 Ford Massy 9N repair manual. But if'n you really want to look, at the sideboard at the top of the page, there is this "Marketplace" heading and it list "Tractor Manuals". You might want to try there to find what you are looking for..... ..Dell
