To anyone who is thinking of replaceing there lift arm bushings, the new replacement bushings are now made of steel instead of bronze/brass. Is this good, bad or otherwise???, who the hell knows, What I do know is: I now have new bushings in my lift cover, I'm still fat and I still like drinking Coors light !, So there !(-:

Have a good one,

later,dave

Bronze bushings are often oil impregnated so they self lubricate. Never heard of that with regards to a steel bushing.

Steel bushing and a steel shaft. I can imagine the problems encountered by people after leaving the unit to sit for some time outside with rust freezing it up solid. Especially if the bushing freezes to the shaft, and wears the lift cover out instead of the bushing.

The old bronze bushing would wear out before the steel shaft. With them both being steel, wear should be about equal, so the next time you replace the bushing, you may well have to replace the shaft.
