Still haven't torn into my steering box and man is that sucker hard to turn to the right. No problem when turning to the left. I found an old post in this forum where a guy had the exact same problem! Is this common on Jubilees? Also, should I hold off on ordering parts until I tear it down in case more parts need replacing than are available to purchase? Hope not cause I think the entire steering box is over $500.00 Thanks

Seems I remember not to far back in the archives someone had a hard steering problem and it was the REAR end. Disconnecting the tie rods should help you see where the tightness is located.

A worn spindle thrust bearing, the one that supports the weight of the axle, can cause hard steering also. fwiw, ray

I redid the steering on my 8N last summer under the apple tree — a real shade tree mechanic job. I got the bearings and races for the steering shaft and the seals for the sectors before tearing into it. I also got the soft plug (that goes under the lower bearing) and the upper shaft bearing and related parts. The hard part is the adjustment. Yours is easier to adjust so that shouldn't be a problem.
Get the FO-19 manual for your NAA — as Dell says "cheep". You won't regret it.

Hope this helps.
