2n Clutch Question

I recently bought a 2n and I noticed that the clutch pedal goes way down. I was going to adjust it but it is fully adjusted. I am guessing that I have some type of clutch problem but the clutch feels and works fine when you push it all the way down. The reason this all came about is because I am trying to put running boards on my 2n and the pedal needs to go down below the running boards to depress the clutch. What can I do to decrease the clutch pedal travel or is this normal? Any advice would be appreciated.

The clutch pedal also operates the left brake, so if you put running boards on you're going to have to do something. Ideas: 1. make sure that the clutch lever (the one with the clevis on it and is attached to the clutch shaft on the side of the trans) is not loose and turning on the shaft. 2. lengthen the clutch adjustment rod, even if the throwout bearing is not fully retracted from the clutch fingers 3. make sure that you are getting the maximum throw from the clutch pedal clevis, which should be pointing slightly to the back in the disengaged position (hopes this makes sense). That's my $.02
