That's about as original as my grandaddy's false teeth!

Definitely not a 46. The 46 had tubular radius rods, not I bean type. Strange looking grill without the Ferguson logo. I didn't know the N's came with 12 volt systems. Maybe I should take my unrestored, working 2n and call it "original".

In "e bay speak" restored means a couple of rattle cans of pretty close color paint and a bottle of Armoral. Sort of like "we weren't romantically involved" means we did the horizontal rumba but I never said I loved her.

Your mileage may vary

Sounds like Bill Clinton may have been involved in some of these definitions. What is the meaning of "is"?

:-)

I like the restored alternator, lights, and paint job. They kinda look like my 9N. But then again, I just bush hogged my field last night-I didn't advertise mine as a "museum piece". I can remember buying mine from a guy who had it along side the road. I knew nothing about N's. As I later found out, he knew less (obvious by the 8N paint job). I asked him what it was and he said "it's an N--some had three speeds, some had four, but they were all alike". Well, I guess this guy fits into that category. And someone, like me, who doesn't know, but will learn, will buy it, and enjoy the heck out of it. He may restore it, he may use it (like I have--it is still grey and red, well orange under the dust and dirt), or he may just look at it. But at least it isn't scrapped and may have found a new life.

Oh well, enough "senior moments" mind wanderings..

JU

Well, it's part of a 9N, part of a 2N and definitely not an original restored museum-quality 1946 model. The casting mark on the bell housing seems to be "8N", but it's obscureed by the steering rod.
