Will a piston from an NAA fit into a 2N? What is the advantage to this change? Does anybody know of a good parts supplier north of the border? I can see my brother in law in Mississippi visiting this Christmas with a sack full of parts! Hey... I might be onto something!!!

You can get these parts in Canada at your New Holland dealer. The piston (NAA530B)was $30.00 and the O-ring was $2.28. Search the archives for info about installing the leather backup washer, if that is the type you get. The first one I got was leather and I soaked it in oil like I read but it was not possible to install it without it breaking. The next one I ordered was rubber and was easy to install. I have since read to soak the leather ones in hot water. I think all new stock will be rubber anyway. I had to file a really big and very smooth chamfer on the cylinder bore to allow the fat o-ring to go into the bore without cutting itself. Good thing the minimum quantity I had to order was 5 as I cut three orings before I put a big enough chamfer to lead the o-ring in.

What part of Alberta are you from? Are there a lot of n's in your area?

The NAA piston will fit if your cylinder isn't worn out. It has an o-ring and back-up washer, whre the 9/2/8N style has three metal rings. The o-ring provides a little better seal, especially if there is a little wear.
