I have posted before about the setting of valves on a jubilee, and I apologize for keeping posting, but I need more info please. I just need basic info on where crank needs to be, and which valves to adjust when(which should be open at a certain time etc.) I have a fo4 manual for my 8n, but am going to set valves for my uncle on his tractor.

thank you all very much.
michael

My brother-in-law, who was a mechanic for over 50 years, had a easy way to set the valves on an engine. Take one cylinder at a time and turn the engine over until one valve starts to open, then set the other valve on that cylinder. In other words when the exhaust valve is open the intake valve will be closed. Therefore the intake valve can be set. Then turn engine over until intake valve starts to open and set the exhaust valve. Do this for each cylinder one at a time. It is simple and it works.
