What type/weight of oil goes in the Jubilee's hydraulic system, and what type/weight goes in the transmission? These are separate units on the Jubilee. Will the typical hydraulic/transmission oil that is used in the joint hydraulic and transmission system of the 8N work? I can't find a reference for this. Thanks.

Michael, I've used the New Holland -134 oil in my Jubilee for the transmission and hydraulics and have had good luck with it. Here in NE Ohio the summers get pretty warm and the winters get pretty cold (lots of snow) and it gives me good year round service. Just bought 5 gallons for the 8 N and if I recall the container said it meets the viscosity of an SAE 10W 30 weight hydraulic oil.

Is the 134 oil a 10-30 oil? Can you use the same transmission/hydraulic oil in the Jub hydraulic system that you use in the 8N? Thanks for the followup.

Yeah, like I said I use the 134 oil in the Jubilee for the transmission, hydraulics, and differential. If I remember right, it takes 5 qts in the transmission; 8 qts in the hydraulic lift; and 7.5 quarts in the differential. The 8N is now in pieces all over the barn, but when and if I ever get the 8N back together, that's the same hydraulic oil I will be using for it. In my engine I use a straight 30 weight non detergent motor oil, but we won't get into that cause there are many differences of opinion as to which oil(detergent or non detergent, and weight)is best. The choice is yours. Good luck in which ever you choose.
