Transmission Differential fluids

My 8N Ford Tractor manual lists the fluid capacity
of the Transmission, Differential and Hydraulic Systems as 20 quarts and I assume from this that this is all one interconnected system. Is this true and what fluid and weight should be used? Any tips or quirks about changing fluids?

Not quite a million posts yet on this question but you put it close. Yes the manual is right--five gallons three plugs. Start with the little pipe plug and work up the the big ones. Check the archives of this board for all you would ever care to know about whether Ford spec 134 or 90 wt is the way to go. With either:
