Surprised it tore the tranny up just shiftin' gears if you had an overrun coupler on it. Anyway, If he is any man at all I know he feels bad. My neighbor wanted a little spot plowed up that was too small to get my tractor into so he asked to borrow my walk behind rotortiler. I said, No, I'll just bring it over and do the job for you. Would you believe that about 15 minutes into the job the tiller threw a rod, no warning. I was glad I had not let him use the machine and I am sure he was glad. ray

He shifted while the tractor was moving downhill with the clutch in. All I know is that he was pretty much speechless when I drained the fluid and handed him a handfull of teeth. Totally shelled 2&4. I am just praying the reverse idler is still good. More to follow.

Thanks. I've been going through a cub first class and am almost done. Really needed the N until I got the cub out of the garage. I figure this is a good way to learn. I'm going to be careful and do the t-job myself. The cub tranny was a breeze but the N looks a little more involved. The neighbor is a really good guy and will help out and pay for all the parts. I think he feels worse than I do.
