My neighbor brought his Jubby over on a roll back so I could "look" at it. The water pump was gone and the fan was hitting the shroud. He said it had been making noise for a while. Luckily it didn't get into the radiator. I cut the fan belt and drove it up the drive. I noticed at once that the two inch nuts on the rear axles were loose and one side was missing the big washer. I was able to torque them up after replacing the nuts and washers but I don't know if any damage was done to the axles and bearings. The oil breather was full of water so I cleaned that up. I have a carb kit on the way. Gas pours out when not running, etc. The float won't stay put so I am getting a new one. I think the "mechanic" that he hired to work on his big trucks messed with this tractor. I know he got fired later for doing stupid things to engines, etc. The exhaust pipe was bent double under the tractor. It was a wonder it would run at all! After I do about $300. worth of work on this Jubilee, I am going to tell him I want first dibs if he decides to sell. I wish he would put it in the garage, though.

There oughta be a law against cruelty to old tractors. I sold a IH Super A a year or two ago and I see the buyer occasionally. Not long ago I went to his house to talk about something else and the tractor was out in the mud and rain. I checked it out and it was in need of TLC. I felt sorry for it. Still do.
