Kind of general, I know, but to settle a bet I need to know the top speed of any MM tractor built .

I know a collector of MM in Champaign county Illinois that has clocked his two UDLXs. One will go 36mph and the other 41mph, why there is a difference in them I do not know.

The UDLX was a 40 mph tractor and considered to be one of the fastest production models. Silver King also made a 40 mph death buggy, but not many know about this, and so the MM UDLX in my opinion can lay claim to the quickest tractor made.

I have a 1952 UTU that will travel about 20 MPH in road gear. I have the governor turned up to 1500 RPM. The older U's would go faster, but I've never clocked them.

Talked to a guy last night (9-24-02) about a UTU he has for sale and he says it'll go 28mph. May not seem fast as far as cars go, but on a tractor, that's a white-knuckle ride!!

First time I ever drove a Moline on the road I was about 8. It was a Z, I believe, and throttling back at the intersections didn't slow it down much. On top of that, the brakes weren't too good. Like I said, a white-knuckle ride.
