RTU head bolt torque

Kyle,

I don't think in any of the earlier manuals on the R's and Z's they gave any specs for these, perhaps that is why no one gave you an answer. I did rummage through some stuff and in the late RTI owners manual it says to use 50-55 foot pounds for clean dry threads and 45-50 for well lubricated threads.

If you had the blocks off you are supposed to just snug the nuts down on them then tighten the head nuts then tighten down the blocks. Tighten the head down by starting in the middle of each block and alternate between each side as you work your way to the outside. I can send you a scan of diagram if you wish. Hope this helps.
