We happen to have a restored model D sheller that I recently found original found original manuals for.According to the book, there is an assembly that bolts to the blower shroud & has the driving sprocket below with an idler sprocket above the cylinder drive sprocket. The chain is fed around the middle gear in order to reverse rotation. If you need more information, drop me a line & I'll photocopy what you need & send it to you.

Is the sheller set up for belt drive now? If it is do you have a PTO kit for it? Where are you located? In some parts of the country there are still some around, and if you don't have a PTO kit you might find an old one to take off. We changed ours ovber from belt to PTO and it is not to hard to do. Let me know what you have and I'll go from there. Harold
