Moline 2-Bottom Pull-Type Plow Information

Things I know about the plow: It's marked MOLINE on the curves of two members and V5919 on another (is this the model number?). The first blade (looking from the hitch) has MNP-14 cast onto its backside, the other has nothing. It is a pull-type plow with metal spoke wheels and rubber tires. It has two long adjustment levers and a pull cord for releasing the blades back into the ground. The wheels appear to have a smidge of yellow paint on them, but the rest of the plow has a light coating of rust - can't tell the color (a shade of red for Moline?).

Also, is this a true Moline plow? I've heard talk about some Moline's made for John Deere?

Pretty certain you have a model AF Minneapolis Moline plow, they are pretty common and were a good plow. They were painted the opposite of the tractors having prairie gold wheels and M-M red everything else. The V5919 is just the part number for that brace and the MNP-14 is the number for one of the available moldboards while MNP-142 should be on the share. What you are calling a blade, as a whole is called a bottom, you have a two bottom plow. The cutting edge of the bottom is a share and the curved part that turns the soil (not dirt) is the moldboard.

Yes, it's a Minneapolis Moline plow, they retained just the Moline name on the plows as the Moline Plow Co. was one of the three companies which merged to form M-M. As far as John Deere plows and the name Moline, I believe the only connection is that John Deere made their plows in Moline, Ill. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. You should look on ebay for a manual/parts book or check out the vendors at any tractor swap meet or M-M convention. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the great information. I'll be starting to restore the plow shortly after finding some manuals/parts books. I'm sure there are probably sources for obtaining M-M paint colors too.
