We have been reworking a MM-UTIL w/Reese Loader and Warner Swayse back hoe which sat for 15 years and have most of the bugs out of it. We have replaced and flushed all the fluids (13 gal. in the rear end alone!), replaced all the ignition parts (that was easy w/a Delco Dist.)and of course the usual belts and hoses. We have been struggling with the Marvel Carburator (No. on Brass plate is TSX 48 67). Several of us have had the carb off, cleaned ports, etc. but have a worn throttle shaft and bushing. The needle and seat, & float seem OK (they were sticking at first). The engine would not hold a steady speed, especially at low RPMs, and now has taken to loading up and backfiring through the exhaust. I have been checking through a local dealer here in Jefferson WI, but haven't been able to come up with a carb kit. Any suggestions out there guys?
Thanks again for your help!

Tom

Tom: Contact, Matt Gall from Indiana, He works for MOTEC. I just sent them my carb and for about $50.00 it came back just like new, haven't touched it since mounting. You know if those danged floats are off about a billionth of an inch, and touch the resevoir sides they can cause a billion problems !! Motec did a great job for me.
