i have a 61 superfour star, and would like to hire someone to restore this. IT is in good shape, just some seals, few parts to be fixed and painted. Needs to be a reasonable hauling distance from NW Tennessee.

Hi David, I noticed no response to your inquiry. You might have a reputable agricultural dealer in your area do your mechanical work and hire the painting out to a body shop or tractor dealer that will take the time to degrease and properly mask the parts. A good paint job is 95% in the preparation. Partial disassembly and careful masking is a must. Tires are very important as nothing makes a paint job look as shoddy as overspray on the rubber. Time spent on the details is equal to time that you will later spend admiring the quality work.
I do my own mechanical and paint work but I have several of my own machines here that need attention so I can't help you with yours. I usually end up spending a year to 1-1/2 on a tractor but only work on 'em when I'm caught up on other stuff or need a little stress relief.
Good luck and check references on whoever you choose.
