Knowing that White/Oliver/MM have done some wierd things, I have a question. My friend has recently purchase a White 2-150. All the Whites I have seen were silver in color but not this one. It is MM yellow with the chrome trim on the hood just like the silver ones. He has sanded and repainted it and it appears that it was yellow from the factory. It also has the 585 engine which I have seen before in the 2-150 but the tractors were silver. Any knowledge out there? No, it wasn't an industrial model!

Selling a G1355 MM this would be a good tractor for parts, and yes it is yellow

What's the serial number? I can trace it from there. So far as I know there were no 2-150's painted MM yellow. The last yellow tractor (other than the "spirit") made by White was the G1355 which also had the 585 motor. The chrome grill you describe is that of the 2-150 series. If you could e-mail a photo I will help you further.

Im guessing that is a "Sprit of Moline" Tractor. I think White made a "Sprit of" tractor for Moline, Oliver, and Cockshutt, but I have only seen toys of these. I would think thoes are kind of rare if you have one. I would paint it back the moline color if I was him.

Look on EBay, they sell some of the 1/16th toys on there, and see if that is what it looks like.

But I thought the "Spirit" tractors were based on the Cummins-engined Workhorse series tractors (the last ones before AGCO came along). I remember there was a discussion about them on Successful Farming's talk page a couple years back, seems only a handful were made in yellow, green and red. I'd do a serial number reference on it and get the year. Maybe it's a very early 2-150 or a very late 2-150? My first visit to the Minnie-Mo board and already I'm intrigued. Gonna hafta get a prairie yellow one on the farm . . . .
