Weak points on White 4-150

Looking for a lighter duty 4wd tractor an it seems that White 4-150's are relatively cheap. What are the weak spots on this tractor. It has a 3208 Cat, can it be tuned for more power without breaking the driveline? Wanted for its rumored ability to straddle 4 30" rows.

I have a white 4-210 never any problems for long time we did change engine for repair one as it has been worn out. there was no mayjor repairs on the tractor from time we buy it new.

I think the 4-150 White had the same problem as the 2+2 IH's. They were oversold/overrated. If you knocked about 25 horses off the power rating , and thought of it as a 125 hp tractor, you had a very good machine.

We really liked the 4-150 we had, I'd say the only down fall the tracor had was the Cat engine which we never had any problems with while we owned it. Something you will also want to watch is the clutch make sure it holds along with the normal things you watch with any tractor. We had duals on front and rear. Really wish we would have kept that tractor and forgot that 7130 Magnum. Grandpa has a 4-210 and the 4-150 would run with it the Magnum is a differen't story the 4-150 would just run over the top of it and never think twice. Not as bad as the 8970 Gensis we demoed would that was a tractor. I guess we live and learn.

White 4- series had final and axle bearing problems when first came out had some modifications don't know if it cured it or not. Most of them I was around at the time unloaded pretty quick. I ran a 4-180 for some guys nights was a smooth running sucker. Don't care much for the cat throw aways myself. But everbody has different opions. If I remember correctly you weren't supposed to put duals on front axles or maybe was local dealer recommendation.

The weak points start at the radiator and end at the draw bar..... Cheap tractor

The 4-150 had lots of weaknesses but still better than the comparable John Deere.
