I'm having troubles locating a battery for my U Serial # 317181. The ones that I find are to tall to fit under the gas tank.

Interstate is one of the few who make the lower height 6volt batterys. If it is a 12 volt you may find one easier.

group 2L IS AVAILABLE AS A 6 VOLT THAT FITS EARLY R AND Zs with battery cover. can be ordered from most battery dealers. cost is about 60 bucks. there are several 12 volt batteries , again measure and choose.

The battery that the U ,R,Z's used is a 19L . You can still buy this batteries from Interstate Batteries.

Have you tried one for a early '9O's Ford PU. They are short up and down.
