I have a friend who pulls a UTU and someone told him that if he advanced the cam one tooth he could make more power...Well he did and it seems to have worked as it runs strong, but he has only pulled it once and he ran out of track. Now if this works why didn't the factory do it??? I'm confused. Anybody else hear of this?? OH!! I forgot to say that he has this U down to 4500# thanks Jim

When you advance the camshaft all the valve events happen sooner. The intake valve opens sooner, the intake valve closes sooner, the exhaust valve opens sooner, the exhaust valve closes sooner. Possible the intake valve closing sooner in your situation make more compression and as an effect the engine make more power. Had MM timed the engine like this it is possible it would not have operated ideally on lower octane fuels like kerosene years ago. As the M670 is supposedly the same camshaft with the key indexed (timed) differently. So ineffect the factory did do exactly what ya did.
