I've turned my ZAU into a puller and am having trouble locating 12" front wheels with a 6 lug bolt pattern. Any help?

The best way (that I know of)is to cut the wheel center out on a lathe, but this can be tricky because it tends to flex or chatter when cutting. Then tack weld the center to one spot on the rim. Bolt the center to the hub, so you can gently spin the wheel and tap the rim until it is true. Then tack weld the center in a few more spots, remove and weld. With careful marking and a steady hand, you could use a cutting torch. To fit a center into a new blank 12'' rim, it should be about 10.2'' diameter.

Miller Tire has 3x12 blank rims & 6 hole rings that you can cut & weld in the rims.

Thank you for the response. Since I posted i've found that the John Deere 770 model from the early 90's has a 12" 6 lug wheel. Since my dad owns one i'm going to bolt it up this weekend and check the clearence. Hopefully it will work. Not cheap but worth the effort if it works.

You will have to make them yourself. I don't think they have ever been factory made. I have made several sets. You can get 12'' blank rims and cut the centers out of a 15 or 16 inch wheel and cut them to fit in the 12. Another source for 12'' rims is from a Ford Festiva ( probably others , too) but these are 4'' wide and you will have to take the centers out of those as well. I have also made centers out of flat steel, but it is easier to use a factory center, especially if you can cut it out on a lathe.

I've seen a lot of people use emergancy spares. It might pay to take a rim to a junkyard and match it up with something.
