We are wondering what tire size will work best on the U that we are going to pull??? Tire man says 14.9x38 is best. We weighed the U today, 5940 lbs.
Any Ideas or coments would be appreciated.

just out of interest we have a Gvi with 23.1 - 26 rear tyres on it and it pulls like you wouldnt believe!

Hay poor Rich from NE. I'm poor Dave from south central NE. We have a U we pull with that does real well in pulls. It has 16.9x38. There are three other U's that pull with us and they all have 18.4x38's. My 5 star I am fixing up I am going to try 18.4x38's. Personally I think 13.6 or 14.9 on a U for pulling is a little small. We run low gear 3m.p.h. max. in our division. Tires are pretty tricky to fiqure out on different tracks, different conditions, and dirreren weight and brands of tractors. Good Luck, Come pull with the Glenville sled sometime.

I am in Far SC Nebr, Franklin. We were going by the Division 1 NAPTA rules for 5500-6500 pound tractors
which is 229 square inches. If it not a NATPA pull, then I guess we could run about anything. what class do you pull in and where can we find a listing of pulls??? We have a restored Z that we pull but the 11X38 tires don't work to well.
