I'M CONSIDERING A MM JET STAR THAT IS SITTING OUT IN A FIELD AND LOOKS TO BE IN GREAT CONDITION. DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THESE TRACTORS AND WAS LOOKING FOR HELP IDENTIFYING IT. MODEL #206 SERIAL#16300494 SEVERAL NUMBERS #10A7975 ON TRANS, 10A7434 FRAME, 10A6500 ENGINE, ANY IDEA WHAT YEAR, WHAT ITS WORTH, CAN I GET PARTS FOR IT, HYDRAULICS NEED TO BE REBUILT. IS THIS A BETTER PROJECT THEN THE 8N I REALLY WANTED, OR WILL I GET HALF WAY ?

With the Jet Star you have 1- over head valve engine 2-live hyd 3- live pto 4-twice the horse power 5-dual hyd outlets 6- power steering on most of them 7- more trans speeds.... The little Fords are nice but you get a lot more features with a M-M.

A Jet star is 2, no 3 or 4 times the tractor of a 8n. I have two Jet Stars, one of which I bought new in '62 and the engine has never been apart. They are great tractors and the hydraulics are many times better than an 8n hydraulics. Also around here you can buy the Jet Star for about the same as an 8n or maybe a little cheaper. Parts are available but may take a little looking. Also the horse power of a Jet Star is around 46 where the 8n is around 27.

The sn. that you are suppling I think is the engine no. The tractor no. is on the right side of the transmission about where your foot wears off the numbers.

Hard to say what they are worth but I have seen them go for 1500 to over 3000 dollars. If 2 people at an auction know what they are they can really go up. Another thing that makes a difference is where you are located as tractor prices vary a lot by region.
