My father-in-law says he has found a Minn. for me but it is 300 miles away and the info that he has come up with dosen't make much sense to me. I have IH,Allis and Olivers but dont know much about minns. He says this is a 425B6 ser.#16100800 and has a 6 cyl motor and is on LP and is very large Can anyone shed some light on what this might be. Thanks

Bud,
The serial number you listed is for the engine in a late 1959 or early 1960 GVI model. The tractor serial number is on a data plate on the right side of the transmission housing below the battery tray or above the belt pulley. I'm not sure if LP models had battery trays on the right side. I'm only familiar with the diesel models. The tractor serial number should start with 160 instead of the 161 that's on the engine.

Bud I would say Brian is right. Anyway the MM GVI is said G-6 . Most people don't realize the roman
numerals that are used for that model.

You are right you can say it any way you want but if you call it anything but G 6 you are mistaken. I am not an MM God but was a dealer at the time and sold the tractors new.

Guys, Guys,
It's not that big of a deal Harrold's right you can say it anyway you want. I knew what Mark was saying. I too am on the side of the fence that says G-6 but I write it the way Moline did. I look at it this way. It's a G series tractor with a 6 cylinder motor hence GVI. This makes the most sense to me as I too pronounced it G-V-I when I first got my 4wd diesel version.
