I have recently picked up a MM tractor but cant figure out what model it is. I looked on the trany by the brake levers for a number plate but nothing was on the trany on that side. The only info I could get off the tractor is as follows:
>On the carb side of the engine-1XB3SL 3 1/4 x 4 2467115
> on the clutch side of the transmission- 207385
> on the hood - there is a couple coats of yellow paint over the orriginal decals but I can clearly make out the letters "BF" in a circle after the MM decals.
Any help you folks could give me would be greatly appreciated. It runs great , has some minor mechanical needs , and some surface rust but nothing rusted through. It has a flat belt and shaft PTO in the back and a single hydraulic cylinder on the clutch side that raises and loweres the draw bar through a linkage similar to a Farmall cub.It has an adjustable width wide front end. It also has provisions in the front for a hand crank start. It was orriginally 6V but has been converted to 12V . It is a 4 cylinder gas engine. Hope all this helps you help me. Thanks.I can e-mail pictures if necessary.

I have one of these in a shed in KS. Thanks for the info on the SN location. I can send you some photos of this one, as it is unrestored and should show what the paint/decals may have looked like. I also have an owner's manual that I do not want to sell, but can make copies of some of the pages, if it would be helpful.

Your tractor sound like a model BF. M-M purchased the Avery company around 1950 and continued making what they called the model R tractor into the BF. This model usualy has the M-M hyd lift system on it. It is also powered by a Herculies engine and not a M-M engine. They also made this with a wide front, narrow front, a high crop, and a offset style like a farmall A and this is called a BG 1 Row. M-M also continued to make the model V which is about the size of a Farmall Cub. The serial number for your tractor should be stamped into the top right frame side rail near the brake pedals. They are a nice little tractor. I like mine.

Looked again at the right side frame rail by the brake pedals and found the number R6515 . Is this the serial number? What have I got?
