I have just brought home my first MM. I have some AC's and JD's. Was at an auction and my wife says isnt it worth more than that and I said "yeah". It was ours just like that. It has a model U and serial # 01206325 on the Trans. and Engine is 4 1/2 X 5 283A4 ser # 01914930. It has a front end that looks like the picture of a UTS. It starts ok with the crank, the starter just clicked even with a new battery in it. No belt hooked to the generator so would appreciate help with the true model, suggestions on the starter and a belt number for the generator. It does not have a Hyd. pump, how hard would it be to get and put in a system and perhaps, a 3 point. Last, I cant find what this was rated at, power wise, 3 14's or what? Thanks and sorry for the long msg. Bob

From the numbers, my list shows it to be a 1951 UTS with a 1951 283A-4, 4�"x5" engine. Some possible causes for the starter problem: Bad cable connection, bad solenoid, bad brushes or brush springs, bad armature or field winding. If I remember correctly it was rated at about 47 HP. Hydraulics were available on this tractor and should be available from a junked one. This system had no way to hold cylinder position except for the stops in the cylinders (M-M). You can use an aftermarket 4 way valve with normal cylinders. A 3Pt was availavble for the UB model which may fit but the top link and the seat may get in the way of each other. Hope this helps.
