How many different grill styles have there been on MM tractors? When and on what models was the horizontal grills fitted? How many models had the pointy grill base? Which model types have seperate cylinder heads? Which engine models used removeable engine block pairs?

During its long history from the mid 30's to '73 MM used many different grilles.
As far as I know, only MM KTA, MTA, and early U's with KEC and KEF engines had 'straight' 4 cyl. blocks. all others used cylinders cast in pairs.
Well, not all-the YT was 2 cyl and used one 'R' cylinder block.-extremely rare These engines also used a one-piece cylinder head. As far as I know, Only R's and Z's were the only other tractor to use one cylinder head. all other MM's used a cylinder head for each cylinder block, 2 for 4 cyl, 3 for six cyl.
Then again, there are probably exceptions. . .

And the exception that just came to mind was the MM V, BF and BG. These all used Hercules engines with a one-piece block and a one-piece cylinder head.
