Rebuilding Z Help?

I have got my grandfathers Z. My son who is 16 and I are in the beginning phases of rebuilding. We have it down to the cylinders needing to come off, but they appear to be stuck or I have missed some bolts somewhere. Is there some hidden from the inside of crankcase? All I have seen is on the outside. Also while I have your attention how much is it going to cast for bearings, rings, gaskets, & such to do a nice job. I meant to get this done before my grandfather past away, but was not able to. I hope now to finish it in time to take it to the Flywheel reunion here at Macon MO this year so my dad can appreciate it with us at the show. Thanks. And where can I get the parts I need. Lots of questions sorry!

you need to take off the valve covers and remove the rocker arms and bolts in there then take the side cover off then there is three bolts up in to the blocks, take the rod bolts off keep them in the right order,mark them and the rods if they are not already.

Hello,
sounds like you have a good project going.
Have you taken all the bolts loose, look it all over to find them all, im not sure where all of them are with out looking again myself?,
With that undone take the rod caps off and just pry on the blocks till they come loose, they could be just stuck to the crankcase.
They will pick up off there with the pistons.
For parts and a manual to work on these i would call welters-417-498-6496, they can probably be the most help.

Thanks Shawn and Joe. It sounds as if I have to remove the cylinders with the pistons in them? Just wanted to let you know the motor is not locked (ie) pistons in cylinders. I have already removed the side cover on the left and removed rocker arms and etc. I have it stripped down to the cylinders senting bare on the block. I will go ahead and remove the rod end caps and see what happens. Don't go far I may need your help again. Thanks again!
