THE AMPLI-TORC (TWO-SPEED)
IT IS A PLANETARY GEAR SYSTEM THAT LET YOU OPERATE IN DIRECT OR UNDERDRIVE
RATIO. WITH LEVER PUSHED FORWARD IT IS IN DIRECT DRIVE, REARWARD FOR LOW DRIVE.
WITH THE LEVER REARWARD(LOW SIDE) THE TRACTOR WILL NOT RUN AGAINST THE ENGINE,
IT WILL FREE-WHEEL OR RUN-AWAY DOWN HILL. I DO NOT SEE HOW THE AMPLI-TORC WOULD SLIP ON THE LOW SIDE. ON THE HIGH SIDE IT COULD SLIP AS THERE ARE CLUTCH PLATES
THAT COULD BE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT.
TO ADJUST: PULL LEVER TO THE REAR, REMOVE SMALL COVER PLATE BY THE LEVER. THERE WILL
BE AN ADJUSTMENT RING THERE. TRUN ENGINE OVER UNTIL YOU SEE A LOCKING PIN IN ONE OF THE NOTCHS ON THE ADJUSTMENT RING. DEPRESS THE PIN AND TRUN ADJUSTMENT RING CLOCKWISE
ONE NOTCH. CHECK ADJUSTMENT BY PUSHING LEVER FORWARD. IT SHOULD TAKE ABOUT 25 TO 30 LBS
TO LOCK FORWARD, IF NOT RE-ADJUST. YOU SHOULD HEAR A DISTINCT SNAP.

: i would like to know what causes the amplataque slip on the low side. My guess would be the one way clutch is letting something turn the wrong way.
