Tractor for a model D sheller

The reason I previously ask about a MM around the size of a VAC is that I have a MM model D corn sheller that I want to match up with an appropriate sized tractor. It looks good behind a VAC but that is a Case and a MM. MM and MM would be better but I do not want the tractor to dwarf the sheller.

At our show over Labor Day weekend, there was a model D sheller being powered with an Allis Chalmers C. An R or a Z should work just fine.

An R, Z or U would all have been a good match. We used to help a neighbor shell his corn (~60 acres worth) for a good part of the fall and early winter using a Model D (I think) belted to Farmall Regular. Did just fine. Just took forever, at least to a kid who thought he had better things to do than shovel corn... Actually it didn't hurt me a bit ... wish I still keep that pace up.

Match up the horse power, 15 to 25 to run the sheller, I would say a Model R or Z
