I just purchased a 51 model u standard.
It has a cracked exhaust manifold,I was told
a 2 peice manifold from a m5 will work,is this
true? the engine runs good and we plan on using
it in antique pulls. Also the engine is 41/4x5
could someone tell me ho many cubic inches this
is and how many bottom plow it could pull.

You may want to check rules on where you pull before you put the 336 manifolds on. Some areas state for stock pulls must have original manifolds. I don't know where all that holds true or if the 336 manifold could be considered a update replacement. They do fit as I have 336 manifolds on a KEF engine I'm rebuilding.

I believe the information about the m5 manifold is correct. I put one on my Gtb when it was rebuilt and the two peice configuration allows the air to remain cooler going into the motor. The u motor was 283 cubic inches. The U was rated at a 3-4 plow tractor, I tend to think three is closer to the mark given the clay based soil where I am from.
