Rough running moline z

my minny will start up ok and sounds fine and runs smoothe but will suddenly die after about 3-5 minutes of idling. cant figure it out. maybe little demons in it? It will start right back up again.

it sounds likie a plugged fuel line. It starts good because the gas has slowly filled the bowl but it can not keep up when it is running. I had the same problem and all I had to do was blow out the fuel line.

Sounds like a dirty carb. My Z would do the same thing - after I had it sandblasted - even though I took every precaution to prevent sand from getting into fuel tank - some did and it eventually clogged my carb. In my case - tractor would start and run great at idle - would die when under load at full throttle.

Problem was a restriction of the main air bleed (main venturi) in the carb.

You need to take your carb apart and clean it/rebuild it. Gasket sets can be bought from NAPA auto parts stores. Or - if you are careful, you can probably seperate bowls and not destroy gasket - Just remember to invert the carb after you take it off of the tractor and get the screws out of the bowl halves - this is to prevent the venturi from droping out of the top half of the carb body. Clean the carb out with carb cleaner and spray cleaner through all of the passages in carb. followed by compressed air. Unscrew main air bleed screw and clean out - it is probably plugged with sediment.

Sounds like your tractor is running out of gas, check fuel flow, what year is your tractor.
