WE have found a place that will make new brakes out of kevlar if we provide dimesions and a pattern. Kevlar has the same braking consistancy as the old asbestos I am told. Could one of you nice gentlemen out there know the dimesions of the over all thickness and the thickness of each fiber disk from a new disk? After that I will give all the news about performance and cost once it's found out. A new old disk would be great to measure.

There some advantages to the Kevlar materials, but just for your information there are brake discs available for very reasonable cost through aftermarket sources as well as the Agco Heritage line of parts to fit these applications so you may have to research your current and future sales opportunities. We"ve sold, installed, and stock many of these discs. Don"t intend to discourage you by any means, but give us a call, there certainly are many other applications that do not have alternative sources. Dale, River Dale Farms, 920 295 3278

We have used replacement brakes and all are truly inferior to the originals. We have broke 3 brake caliper / expanders already. They swell up on brake aplication and lock the wheels up. Are the AGCO brakes made out of something better than before? We were just not happy with the aftermarket brakes we have used before either. We need 7 sets of brakes just to start. Were looking for a better brake and the best part is NO cheap imports. The worst thing that can happen is the labor to swap them back out.

You obviously have experienced something we haven"t. That is why some tractor companies sold new tractors with many built in differences,ie, Case 1070 and 1170 had major different brake systems, quite likely because of scenarios similar to what you"ve experienced. Good Luck with your idea,Dale
