I am putting the finishing touches on my UM-5 mower. Those tires are 7 inch, I was lucky to have good ones. I was at a show once and saw some new 7 inch tires on a front mount cultivator, they had tractor tread design ( I am thinking they were from garden tilling eguipment). If you redid it with 8 inch tires there might be a clearance problem. There should be an angled bar, with many holes, across the front for mounting. Still , I had to make an adapter plate to mount it on my ZB. Are the skid bars on your sickle painted red? The big lift assist spring and bolt was red on mine, as were the wheel rims and pitman. If you mounted this on an R you could get an optional foot lift. I need to fid a PTO sheild yet, otherwise, it should be a sharp looking mower when I get done.

Couple of questions, is the mounting plate still on the tractor and did you have to replace the tires? If you did where did you find tires or did you change the wheels? Nice looking mower. Thanks, John

I bought the tires at goodyear 5 years ago and the mounting plate was bent when I bought it so I made a couple of smaller plates to quickly attach it to the 400. the orginal was a 3/8" x 3" angle iron with holes every 2". You will probably not find the bar wheel out on the end. I believe I have the only one of 3 in existance.

Jossette, What kind of hookup is that on the front? Does it attach to the 3 point lower arms? Thanks, John
