I'm finishing up restoring a 1940 ZTU and on the left fender there was an origional metal "IMPORTANT" tag. It had that stamped on the top and and a lot of other intructions that were ineligable because the rust was so bad. Was wondering if anyone knew of anyone reproducing these or where i could get one. also anyone know where i can get an old-style kill swtch. thanks

I was just wandering what serial number your '40 ZTU is. I have not heard of very many other 1940 models around and was wanting to check it to see how close of a relative we have. Mine is 568031.

I also acquired a new knife switch from a hardware store. I do have an original that I will be mounting once I restore it; but while its in the play stage, the plastic base does just fine.

Kill switch for mag? You can buy a brass knife switch at radio shack or the like probably ebay but it will be mounted to black plastic you can make a wood mount to look original.

I got one of those knife blade kill switches for my JT from Lowes. It was in one of the blue hardware bins.
