i put the motor back togather ; got ready to start it ; put water in raditor,turn the hose off walked back to my tractor and water was running out the carb !!! how can this be ????

Or, a bad head gasket. Pulll the plugs and see if you can tell where the water is getting into the engine.

Another thought, if you tigthen the blocks to the cranckcase before squaring them them with the head, you may not have gotten proper compression on the head gasket.

You have a cracked cylinder wall with an intake valve open.
