I was looking in the serial number list and came across a model RTI-M.

I know what an RTI is, but can someone tell me what the M stands for. At first I thought military, but the only year they were made was 1953 which was too late for the war.

RTIM is a Military version of the RTI tractor. The military doesn't shut down when there's no war to fight. Moline made a batch in 1953 for the military with the specific model RTIM but they made RTI's for the military prior to 1953. I have a 1951 RTI with all the military markings, lifting eyes and holes in the fender for the rifle mount.
