The PTO on my Mineapolis Moline JetStar 3 is stuck in the run position. I cannot shut it off. I need someone to repair it. The tractor is based in Schuykill county, New Ringgold, Penna. Is there anyone in that area that can help me.

JS3"s had a brake on the pto clutch, a very thin metal band with grit material to grab the shaft when lever is moved to stop. It requires the top cover of the trans be lifted off, including the tele-flo hydraulics if you have them. Quite involved. When this band breacks or needs adjust, the shaft may turn while not hooked up to implement because of "drag" on the system. If it has a resistance or load on it, it doesn"t run. IN otherwords, if this is happening, it wont" run your implement with full force or at all when connected. If this is not the case, then the lever pins may have sheared or such and doesn"t operate the pto at all anymore. Anything wrong here requires dissassembly. The brake band is hard to find also, and mine was about $100 when I changed it a few years ago.
