I am fixing up my grandpa's MM. Was wondering
what the original spark plugs were? Also what are
the advantages to converting to 12v, and if changing to 12v or high performance 6v coil. what other changes need to made to plugs, gap, points, condensor, cap, rotor, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Champion spark plugs are J-8. There is no avantage on performance between 12V and 6V
except the starting. you still need a 6V drop across the coil so a resistor will have to be placed in series with coil if 12V is used. If you put an alternator on you will have to change the polarity to a negative ground. Most of my Molines have alternators on them but you loose the originality of the tractor with an alternator. Hope this helps Roger.
