I am looking at a G706 FWD. It has a factory three point hitch. Does anyone know how many were made with the three point hitch? It doesnt run but is loose. The sheet metal is fair. Can anyone tell me what a good market price would ? Thanks in advance

It may not have stopped at another dealership but they very often stopped and had stuff done at a district house may have been put on there then shipped to the dealer it would not have been factory or dealer installed in that case

3pt was a dealer installed option. It was a kit the dealer ordered. It's unknown how many were installed.

I don't think that all of them were dealer conversions. I have the original paperwork from the MM blockman that sold my G708 to the dealer. It has the 3pt option on it at that point. Also in the G707 & G708 parts manual on pages 96-98 there is a breakdown of the 3pt hitch assemblies.

I was only referring to the G706. The 3pt option code 190404 was not available until Oct/Nov 1964 for ordering. The option in 1964 was listed as FOB Minneapolis, MN which means it was to be shipped to the dealer from Minneapolis. The G708 order lists only show the 190404 3pt option as a "NOT INST" option instead of a "FAC INST" option. Your dealer could order it but it was not installed at the factory. Now it could have been installed at a branch house before shipment to the dealer but I'm not aware of any way to verify that or if such a thing was ever done back in the day. Options that were not installed at the factory are not recorded in factory serial number records hence its unknown how many came with the 3pt option.

Email is open to discuss.

I tend to disagree with you on this. My uncle was a dealer at the time of the G706's and I clearly remember a new 706 showing up at his dealership, from the factory, with 3 point. Now I am sure they did not stop at another dealer along the way to have this done....

I've learned that anything is possible with Molines but production records indicate that no 3pts were installed on the assembly line. If you want to know for sure then send your serial number to Floyd County and see for yourself. All the documentation I've run across indicates they were not offered for factory installation. I enjoy researching these topics and I welcome anyone who has some paperwork to the contrary. Who knows what Moline did to the tractors after they came down the assembly line.

I don't need any paper work to agree or disagree with what I saw!! I think it is great you are trying to go by what records indicate, but I KNOW what I saw in the summer of 1964, a new 706 with 3 point. If I ran serial number through and it did not show 3 point, should I assume I am imagining this????

No one is questioning what you saw arrive at the dealership. Did you see THAT tractor come off of the assembly line with the 3pt??? I do not believe that tractors were all delivered directly to the dealer from the assembly line. I believe that the tractors went to a division or block warehouse first. The 3pt could have been added at that time. What we would like to know as a MM community is did it leave the assembly line with the 3pt. To find out for sure follow the advice given and contact the Historical Society with the serial number.

This is only the third 3pt I've seen/heard about. Although not an MM expert, I would be willing to wager that darn few are around. Wouldn't surprise me if less than a dozen.

I know of about 15 or so of these to exist. They are very unique and add a lot to the tractor. Although they do make it hard to get on and off of the tractor.
