My tractor has a 10A4232 center head and 10A4239 end
heads. Tractor runs fine. Bit confused why heads are different...was likely one or more of the heads reworked to conform to the other?

Guys...Thanks for your info. I checked with some knowledgeable folks about this issue and they told me a 10A4232 head was an acceptable replacement head for a 10A4239 head. Maybe not the greatest replacement but acceptable! They said if the old tractor is running fine not to worry about it. It looks like the other two 10A4239 have been worked and likely the 3rd 10A4239 head was defective and replaced at that time

the 4232 head is more plentiful period that is probably why it is there. A 4233 would have been a better head TO USE BUT JUST AS RARE.

further more the 4232 head was used on the 425c as a gasoline head because it was lower on compression. 4239 in use on the 504A the compression ratio is to high even for HD-5 fuel. The 10A4233 head is for high altitude 504A LP use.

the 4239 heads has more compression. they were designed for the HD-5 425C engine.
