I picked up these two little jewels at the Bridgeport sale. I sort of felt bad about going because of the "Aumman aspect", but it was amazing seeing all the old iron and meeting so many great folks. Met collectors from all over, but it was really good visiting with some folks from Illinois, Washington state, and German George from Germany.

Is that a 17-30 B Minneapolis? I have a B and a plain 17-30. When you get around to needing gaskets try Olson Gasket in Washington state. They have been good to me. Would like to know where to get replacment oiler cover for detroit lubricators.

Thanks for the results, i suppose hauling those big four wheelers would add up in a hurry.

Looks like you have some history going on the trailer home with you. I would have liked to go to that sale, just too see all the tractors, but too far and in the middle of calving it wasnt an option. Did you see what those A4t's sold for, i know some were stripped down, but a few looked complete? Good luck with your new iron, glad they didn't go to the iron man.

I felt bad, because we were writing down bidder numbers and prices on the purchases and some of the same numbers that were sucking up most of the heavily picked over parts junkers (in other words, the scrappers) bought quite a few of the Minnies...

The A4T's were in the $1600-2500 range, if I remember right - a friend already borrowed my auction guide with all the prices I wrote down. They were on the rough side, but mostly repairable.

Seems like the old JD 4 wheel drives were the only ones that people thought were worth hauling very far. The old IH 4 wheelers also didn't bring much. Neither did the Versatiles.

I wanted the 1355 with 3 pt, but I think it went for $6500.

Hey!

Nice talking to you, too! I meant to get over and visit some more, but between two rings and trying to get mine and some friend's loaded, it was pretty harem-scarem!

If you don't mind, shoot me an email at howardh at opsu.edu...

Thanks,
Howard

Congrats, IF you have never worked on a crossmotor be very carefull removing the manifold the facroty holes had very little clearance and they rust to the studs. I bought 2 a few years ago and one of them had the manifold in pieces where the previous owner had tried to remove it!

Thanks for the hints! I'll take any advice I can get! :)

I haven't ever worked on one this old, but hope to really do it right.

If you need the oil glass covers there are plastic replacements available.
