What about a 451ci with a turbo?

Is this advisable to put a turbo charger on a 451ci moline diesel in a G-955?? I am not pulling it, just general field work and wanted a little more power say from 100HP up to 135HP or so.

Did they ever make a turbo for that engine or woud the 504ci charger from the G-1000 fit??

Just asking questions since I purchased a G-955 and a G-950 last week. I am trying to learn....

I have a G1000 turbo that I pull and it sees occasional field use. It made a BIG difference

have a 504ci turbocharged and havent had any problems. would strongly recommend that if you build manifolds, make them thick enough to hold up to the extreme heat from working it in the field. on the 504 hp changed from 105 to 140 with no fuel changes. i was greatly impressed how much more efficient this was. once i had the pump redone it now makes about 185-190. i was told once you get over 200 the crank wont last long but i guess i will find out.

I have turbo on 504lp gas,use it for farm and pulling no problems yet. Water injected to help keep it cool thats all.

i have a g1000 that i pull with i put an A pump and a holset turbo off a 02 dodge pick up and it builds 40 pounds of boost its for tractor pullin but i havent broke anything yet well good luck.

i have heard no'ton good of putten turbo's on MM's !! why didn't the MM factury engneer's do it ?? ; because it didn't work out too good at proving grounds !!

We sold 2 A4T-1400's with the factory 504 installed M & W turbo's off the flat car. They were not the best performers. Lanova heads and turbos don't do well.

A wise moline man told me years ago,that if I were to turbo my G900 ,it would run 50 hours before it pulled the main bolts down from the crankcase,I believed him,as he would turbo many 451 or 504 lp and have no problems.M and W made a turbo kit for the 504 diesel but I don't know anyone who tried one.

very nice tractors !!!!! !!! , turn the fuel up a little and live with the orginal set up. .Would not want to modifly such nice orginal tractors,,,,, BOB
